Have you ever wondered why there is visible rebar in many buildings in Latin America? There are many factors that play into this type of construction method. The most common reasons are briefly stated below.

• People buy supplies as they get money. It may take years to finish an addition, but no one goes into debt. 15 or 30-year home loans are not a thing, owing a bank money for your property is reserved for criminals and fraudsters. Every bit of building you have; you own and can pass it down without any debt or any loan balances.

• Weather and materials permit this kind of construction. Many Latin American countries sit in a nice weather belt, and if your current house is waterproof the next level can wait almost indefinitely. Most houses are built with concrete which can withstand any type of weather conditions fully exposed, as opposed to plywood that has a limited exposure time.

• Additionally in some countries, if your house is still under construction taxes are calculated differently than a finished house.

There are many advantages to this type of construction. Personally, it sets a goal that you will grow with the house, something to look forward to. You can priorities expansions as your family and business grows or shrinks. There is no need to plan for every eventuality at the time of initial construction. Finally, everything as little or as much as you have built in your parcel of land, is yours.
